Two fine fellows were working very hard all day at the local coal mine. One of the fellows managed to get a really dirty face, but the other fellow managed to stay clean. When they reached the end of their day and re-joined the surface in the lift, the fellow with the dirty face simply went home, however, the fellow with the clean face rushed off to wash. Why?

third ques : The fellow with the clean face saw the fellow with the dirty face and thought his face was also dirty and wanted to wash it and vice versa.

the answers do not make sense. no one left on the bus since all got off at the last stop. the letter E 4=EvEry wEEk/ 2=EvEry month/1=yEar. the dirty face thought his face was clean because the other guy had clean face?
